”To allow God to be God we must follow Him for who He is and what He intends, and not for what we want or what we prefer” Ravi Zacharias
This quote is so true, and totally believe this. . . but . . . do we really live this out?
How many times a day do we ask God for what we want and what we prefer to happen in my our lives? We can get so self absorbed that we miss the point of having a relationship with the Lord. If we are so selfish in the relationship how then is it a relationship? If we only think about ourselves we truly don’t care about the needs of others. It is pretty hard to have friendships and relationships if we are not thinking of the other person. It’s even deeper with the Lord. If we acknowledge His ways are true and that He really does have control of our lives….we must allow Him to work upon that truth. He knows the big picture. He knows what is best…even when we think we know what is best for us.
Allow God to be Almighty, Powerful, a Daddy, a Provider, a Caregiver, a Shepherd, Loving, Faithful, Fulfilling, Forgiving, Always keeping Promises, Always there for you. Allow Him to be who He is. and let Him mold you into what He has called you to be.
God always has your best interest at heart, and sometimes we don’t believe that. Believe it. Believe that He is worth following and surrendering to. Believe that He is capable of the impossible. Believe that He loves you and finds you worthy of His love.
Allow God to be God.
